A scorcher in store

posted at 7:30 am • filed in Asides, Weatherpost comment »

Charleston’s got another scorcher in store for today, with a heat advisory in effect once again from noon until 9 PM for heat indices over 105 degrees. With such heat and humidity, thunderstorms are a distinct possibility, much in the way they fired up over Charleston yesterday. Keep an eye to the skies — preferably from indoors or in the shade with lemonade if you must be outside — it’s going to be a typical July day in Charleston.

  1. I still prefer July to January!

  2. Man, you really love lemonade, huh? haha.

  3. eyebee: Yes, I would tend to agree, for sure…though when January’s in the mid-70s like it was at points last year, it wasn’t so bad. ;)

Tyler: Haha, I guess I do. Must be some subconscious thing…

  4. Oh.. How I long for the days of 105 degree weather. ;) We hit 105 here in April, i believe.

It’s been unusually humid in AZ for this time of year (which does NOT combine with 118 degree weather very nicely.) - but usually it’s just a very dry stale heat….

The only thing that I have to look forward to is the monsoon storms next month.

I feel symphathetic anyone in the east-coast wth that kind of heat (with yucky humididty!! BLECH) Im used to it here, by now. (in fact every year i look forward to bathing suit season!!) - but obviously it’s one of those things that you have to let your body get used to.
