Jeremy Hermanns describes the scene on board an Alaska Airlines MD-83 after a hole in the plane causes a rapid depressurization of the cabin and deployment of oxygen masks and such. Includes photos from his Treo. It’s a very interesting read, and I’m glad that the pilots of the aircraft were able to bring the plane in for a quick, safe landing.

T.S. Tammy is now spinning off the Florida coast. While it won't become a hurricane, it's still going to bring us dreary, rainy, crappy weather for the next few days. Flooding's a good possibility. I'm glad my car is in front of my house......

Thanks Jared, that WAS an interesting post about the incident on Alaska Airlines. The comments were off the wall!
Once I landed in Chicago on a snowy, icy night and we started skidding to the left on touchdown. The skid continued for a loooooong time (it seemed to me) and after we straightened out, a guy sitting on the aisle complemented me on almost getting out of my window seat…considering I was belted in.
I did not remember moving or trying to “escape” so human nature is funny.
